Reflection

1) What are your thoughts and feelings on the leadership camp?

I thought the leadership camp was a fun, engaging way to teach student leaders important leadership skills, and I hope that we will have more camps like this. I feel that it was very enjoyable and even though it was during a holiday, I find that I don't regret it at all.

2) How has the camp changed your view in how you see leadership?

It really shows me how much I didn't know about leading and how much left there is to learn, and that leadership isn't something that one can do individually, it's really a team effort, of the leaders and followers.

3) What are two things you wish to apply in your role as a student leader?

I would like to apply the skill of listening, because if a leader were not to listen, would that person even be a leader? It's a fine line between leading and giving instructions. And I would also like to apply the skill of understanding, one step above listening. I believe that understanding one's peers is the only way to get them to trust you enough for you to lead them. Leading is a not a one way street.

4) What is one area you would like to challenge yourself to grow in?

I think I could be better at confidence. Although it may not be the main thing in being a leader, it still plays an important role.

Anyways that's my reflection for the camp,

thanks,

Liv
